Andy is our Hamilton South Jim’s Building inspector, servicing Hamilton South, Te Awamutu, Matamata and Morrinsville. Over the past 25 years Andy has worked in various roles throughout the building industry, and has developed a vast and knowledgeable skill set.

Part of his building industry experience initially included periods of employment in building supplies with PlaceMakers and James Hardie where he was involved in sales, installation training and support for the technical team.  In 2000 Andy returned to University to complete a business degree and spent the long uni holidays working on various building sites, primarily as a hammer hand. More recently Andy managed a number of rental properties and is responsible for all of the day to day maintenance and refurbishment. Andy is currently studying towards his Cert IV in Construction Supervision

In between buying and selling a number of personally owned businesses, he joined a small business broking business where he was involved in selling building related business which included, waterproofing, flooring and outdoor power equipment.

More recently Andy was employed in a Building Maintenance role in the retirement industry where he was responsible for the day to day maintenance in two villages. The role included supervising a team of specialist trades like plumbers and electricians.

After their two boys left home, Andy and his wife were looking to move out of Auckland to Cambridge in the Waikato and was specifically interested in a Building Inspection Business to utilise his experience in the building industry. His initial Google search led him to the Jims Building Inspection opportunity.

Andy is a keen sports person and is looking forward to any opportunity to become involved in the local community activity.
