Jason is our Central Plateau building consultant and has been involved in the building industry for over 29 years.

At the age of 18, Jason began working for a building company as a laborer /hammer hand in the busy tourist town of Ohakune. He completed his apprenticeship and became qualified within four years, and later became a LBP [licenced building practitioner] when this became mandatory in the industry.

For the last 15 years Jason has been running his own construction company, building new investment/ residential and holiday homes. He has also renovated many older/ relocated homes, bringing them up to a healthy living standard.

After many years on the tools and not being as nimble as he used to be, Jason was looking to use his skill set in another area of the building industry.

When not doing inspections, Snow Skiing, Hunting and Fishing are at the top of Jason’s list. He also shares a love of horses with his wife Rebecca – breaking, re-training, and breeding many horses over the years.

Throughout Jason’s 35 years within the snow sport industry, he has met many people from all over NZ and the world. This has helped Jason to develop strong people skills and a sound understanding of customer service. As a Jim’s Building Inspector, Jason is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure his clients receive a positive experience.
